The department of Chemistry was established in 2006 as one of the optional papers for the M. Bt. C. and Applied Nutrition courses in 2020. The main aim of the department is to provide thorough knowledge of the fundamental principles of Chemistry and its contemporary practices. It enables students to investigate, explain, and predict new features of the subject and adopt its practical application.

Objectives 

  • To demonstrate scientific understandings of the structure of matter and its physical and chemical transformations.

  • To apply appropriate theories and to predict chemical structure, reactivity and physical properties. 

  • To understand laboratory techniques and to carry out quantitative analysis, chemical synthesis, and characterization of compounds.
