Silver Jubliee Year 2023
The Silver Jubliee Year of Smt. A. Shyamala Devi Degree College for Women was celebrated with a series of events designed to honour its rich history and achievements. The activities commenced with a grand inauguration ceremony. Smt. Shika Goel, Director General of Police, Telangana Women’s Safety Wing, Telangana was the Chief Guest for the occasion, accompanied by many other dignitaries, alumni, faculty and students. This event set the tone for the year ahead, highlighting the College’s journey and its significant contributions to education.
As the year progressed, special guest lectures by eminent scholars and professors from the various departments were arranged to offer insights into emerging trends and advancements in various fields for the students. Two National Seminars in Commerce and Lifesciences were each conducted to focus on fostering innovation, entrepreneurship and research skills among the students, equipping them for success in a rapidly evolving job market.
Awareness programmes like International Women’s Day, World Environment Day, World Health Day, World Literacy Day were also conducted to highlight the College’s commitment to social responsibility and empowering the students to make contributions to the communities. In addition to these activities, Cultural programmes like Annual Day, Traditional Day and Competitions in the field of Literary, Cultural and Sports were conducted to promote cultural exchange and diversity and enriching the College experience for both the students and the faculty.
Specialized training sessions for the Placement Drive by different companies were also taken up to help students explore career options, develop essential skills, and prepare for the professional world.
As we draw the curtains on this remarkable Silver Jubilee year, it’s impossible not to reflect on the myriad of activities that have defined this milestone journey. From exhilarating events to insightful seminars, from heartwarming community initiatives to groundbreaking achievements, each endeavour has left an indelible mark on our collective memory.
Looking ahead, the College envisions continuing its pursuit of academic excellence by expanding research capabilities, fostering innovations, and strengthening industry partnerships. It remains committed to empowering students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.
